The Hodge family wanted a backyard that combined comfort with clean, modern design—something functional yet inviting, and ready for year-round use. We collaborated with them to transform their outdoor space into a relaxing extension of their home.
At the heart of the design is a custom glass pergola, providing shelter from the rain without sacrificing natural light or views. The result is a stylish, weather-protected outdoor living area that’s perfect for gathering, unwinding, or simply enjoying the fresh mountain air.
The project also included the addition of the Thunderbird Pool, built as part of the extensive renovation and transformation of the existing home and property.
The Outdoor Living Space
The Thunderbird Pool
One of the most unique features of the Thunderbird Pool is something you barely see at all.
Rather than using valuable yard space for a mechanical shed or taking up space within the home, the pool's mechanical room was constructed directly beneath the deep end of the pool.
Access is discreetly located at the back of the yard, where a small staircase leads down to the mechanical room. This keeps all of the pool equipment out of sight while preserving the surrounding property for outdoor living and landscaping.
Integrated into the larger home renovation, the finished pool became an important part of the overall property transformation—creating a place to swim, relax, and enjoy the outdoors without compromising the design or functionality of the yard.
