DOWAD POOL

The Dowad Pool presented unique construction challenges right from the start. The design called for the pool’s mechanical room to be positioned beneath the existing deck, a space the Woodridge team quickly came to call “The Bunker.”

To make it happen, our team first shored the structure above, dismantled a portion of the existing deck, and excavated the area required for the new concrete mechanical room. Once the bunker was complete and partially backfilled, excavation of the pool could begin.

The clients wanted an exceptionally deep pool, requiring excavation to a depth of nine feet before construction of the concrete pool and raised hot tub could get underway.

The biggest challenge throughout the build was access. With only six feet of working space along one side of the house, virtually everything needed for the project (excavation equipment, materials, concrete work, and debris removal)  had to move through this narrow corridor. Careful planning and coordination were essential throughout every stage of construction.

After four months of work, the transformation was complete: a custom concrete pool and raised hot tub that completely reshaped the property and made the challenging build well worth it.
